EZ Tale ("the App") is a bedtime storytelling companion for parents and children, operated by Ben Swieskowski ("I," "me," or "my"). This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use EZ Tale, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.
By using EZ Tale, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.
I collect information in two ways:
1. Locally in your browser (not transmitted to me)
EZ Tale stores your reading progress, bookmarks, voice preferences, display settings, and other app state in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to me or any third party. You can clear it at any time through your browser's site data settings or through the App's Settings screen.
2. Automatically via Google Analytics
I use Google Analytics to understand how people use the App. Google Analytics automatically collects:
This data is processed by Google LLC under their own privacy policy. I only receive aggregated, anonymized reports and do not have access to data that identifies you personally. You can learn more at Google's Privacy Policy and opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
I do not collect your name, email address, phone number, payment information, or any other personally identifying information directly. EZ Tale does not require an account or login.
Google Analytics uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to distinguish users and analyze usage patterns. These are small files stored in your browser. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect the functionality of some websites you visit.
EZ Tale itself does not set any cookies. All app data is stored via localStorage, which is not a cookie and is not transmitted with network requests.

I do not sell, rent, or share your information with any third parties for marketing purposes.
EZ Tale is designed for parents to use with children of all ages. The App is operated by the parent or caregiver, not directly by the child.
I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App does not require registration, does not ask for names or ages, and stores all user data locally on the device. The only data transmitted is anonymized analytics via Google Analytics, which does not identify individual users.
If you believe that a child has somehow provided personal information in connection with the App, please contact me at the address below and I will promptly take steps to investigate and delete any such information.
EZ Tale may offer additional story packs, premium content, or other paid features in the future. These purchases would be processed through a third-party payment provider. If and when such features are introduced, this Privacy Policy will be updated to describe any additional data collection or third-party processing involved. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.
Your continued use of the App after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
Local browser data (localStorage) is retained on your device until you clear it through your browser settings or through the App's Settings screen. Analytics data is retained by Google according to their standard retention policies.
Because I do not directly collect personally identifying information, there is typically no personal data on my end to delete. Please contact me with any questions or requests.
California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act. I do not sell personal information and do not directly store personally identifying information about you. For analytics data held by Google, please refer to Google's CCPA disclosures. For questions specific to your California rights, contact me below.
EZ Tale is operated from New York, United States. If you access the App from outside the US, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.
